Manon von Gerkan began designing a jewelry line based on her unique aesthetic vision and eclectic personal style in 1995, shortly after opening Shamballa, a Manhattan jewelry store/gallery with Danish designer Mads Kornerup. She formed Manon NYC Inc. in 2000, and her original collection, inspired by both her European background and her fascination with Native American culture, now numbers over 500 pieces.

Manon’s creative designs seamlessly blend disparate images and ideas into a singular and original expression. Manon NYC Inc.’s line is both cool and hot, classic and contemporary, striking and subtle, European and American. Her designs manage to be deeply thoughtful yet also wildly spontaneous, inspired by stillness to create movement. Equally suitable for stepping on to a bike/ dance-floor/ yoga-mat/ or out of a limousine, her pieces are worn by working women and movie stars alike.
